Up to: 5 hours
Hop into our 4x4 vehicles and explore Gran Canaria beyond the conventional tourist routes. This experience is designed for lovers of nature, history, and adventure. Led by our expert local drivers, we'll travel along secondary roads to discover some of the most authentic corners of the island's interior, including dams, peaks, wild areas, charming villages, and impressive landscapes.
We depart from Maspalomas towards the Barranco de los Lomos de Pedro Alfonso, taking in spectacular views of the Barranco de Aguineguín before arriving at the Chira Dam. Originally constructed between 1941 and 1944, the final project was completed in 1965, giving it its current appearance. This dam is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular and beautiful civil engineering works in the Canary Islands, a truly unique landscape, and a protected natural area within the Gran Canaria Biosphere Reserve.
Our journey continues to the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and its capital, Tunte, where we'll visit the old town and its church. We'll then follow our route through the beautiful village of Fataga and into the Barranco de las Mil Palmeras (Ravine of a Thousand Palm Trees).
Our final stop will be at the spectacular Degollada Astronomical Viewpoint, offering breathtaking views of the island's south coast, the Maspalomas Dunes, and the Barranco de Fataga, known as the "Grand Canyon of Gran Canaria" for its depth and vastness. From here, we'll head back to your hotels, concluding the tour.
